I make functional art out of mud by playing with it and then baking it.

I have always been deeply connected to the natural world, shaped by my childhood in New England and my work as a science teacher and environmental attorney. My functional stoneware is inspired by landscapes, wildlife, and the beauty of moments in nature. Working on the potter’s wheel and incorporating painting, carving, and texture, I create one-of-a-kind pieces that hopefully invite a sense of peace, joy, and connection into the lives of the people who use them.

I hope my pieces feel good in your hands and look beautiful in your home. I hope you make the time to be creative too!

Most of my work is made in my home studio in Palo Alto, California. If you’re interested in taking classes with me, join me at South Bay Ceramics in Mountain View.

I am happy to ship or arrange porch pickup for pieces you see on my Instagram feed. Just message me and we’ll try to work something out!
